This service allows library users to access publications that are not in the library's collection and cannot be easily obtained from any library in Prague. These publications are then borrowed from another library that owns the publication in question.
- Types of Interlibrary Loan Services:
- from libraries in the Czech Republic for CZU Library users (ILL)
- international Interlibrary Loan Service from foreign libraries for CZU Library users (IILL)
- Who can apply for ILL / IILL:
- all users registered in the CZU Library, without debts and blocks on their account
- Terms and loan period:
- set by the providing library
- if the book is not available in the Czech Republic, IILL can be requested
- Before requesting:
- first check the catalogue if the publication is not in the CZU Library collection
- note: publications that are in the CZU Library collection, but all volumes are currently borrowed, cannot be ordered via ILL (you can reserve them in the library catalogue after logging in your account)
- Processing time for ILL / IILL requests:
- depends on the conditions of the library from which the ILL is requested
- approximately: 7-14 days, but sometimes longer, especially when borrowed from abroad
- Price list
- ILL/IILL service is free for registered readers of the CZU Library
- in case of non-compliance with the conditions for picking up and returning ILL/IILL, sanctions are applicable (see below)
- Penalty fee for each uncollected ILL / IILL:
- requested publications must be collected within 14 calendar days from receiving a notification of fulfilling the request
- after this period, the order is considered as “uncollected” and will be returned to the requested library
- a penalty fee will be charged to the requesting ILL/IILL user's card for each uncollected publication:
- Interlibrary Loan provided from another library in the Czech Republic: 100 CZK
- International Interlibrary Loan provided from a country within the EU: 250 CZK
- International Interlibrary Loan provided from a country outside the EU: 450 CZK
