You can use ordinary desk scanner in the Small study room. The scanner is connected to a computer and the scanned document is saved in the computer. The maximum size of a document is A3. After scanning you can save the document to a USB flash drive, upload it to your online storage, send via e-mail etc. If you encounter any problems, don't be shy to ask in the Large study room.
There are two bigger self-service scanners with overhead continuous scanning in the Large study room and Reading room. These scanners can handle format A3+ and they also include some advanced functions - text detection, image cropping, more formats (PDF, TIFF, JPG). Moreover they offer text recognition using OCR. The output PDF with OCR is smaller and allows full text searching. Scanned documents are saved to a connected USB flash drive so don't forget to bring one. We attached an extension cable for your convenience.
Scanning on all of these scanners is free of charge.
Anyone who uses this scanner is obliged to respect the Act No. 121/2000 Coll., on Copyright and Related Rights and on Amendment to Certain Acts (the Copyright Act). It is restricted to make copies of standardisation documents (such as ISO, ČSN etc), since they lie outside of ordinary copyright law. Other documents can be scanned for personal use only.
