The Data Management Competence Centre (DMCC) is a specialized university unit established to support and develop a university-wide environment for managing data generated by students at the Czech University of Life Sciences Prague.
The DMCC focuses not only on final theses but also on data produced throughout the course of study—during lab work, field measurements, classroom exercises, and other activities. Its core mission is to ensure the secure, well-organized, and, where appropriate, shareable handling of such data, in line with the principles of open science and the standards of academic quality.
Our mission
- To improve data handling practices among students at all levels of study.
- To promote transparency, reproducibility, and responsible data use.
- To provide training, expert advice, and methodological support to students, teachers, and university staff.
What we offer
- Support for storing and archiving final theses and datasets.
- Consultations and training on data management and open science.
- Development and distribution of educational resources and methodological guidelines.
- Assistance with reviewing university policies related to the management of student-generated data.
Our aim is to foster an environment in which student-generated data is recognized as a meaningful and valuable academic output. The DMCC empowers students, teachers, and researchers to work with data responsibly—while ensuring clarity, efficiency, and security.
