Types of student cards

All students at CZU can apply for their own university card. This card is valid through your whole study (including repeated study, subsequent study, interrupted study etc.) and serves as your ID card, student status receipt, allows entrance in the university buildings and evidence of attendance at certain lectures and it is not necessary to extend its validity!

Whatever card issued elsewhere than at CZU is not valid as a student card at CZU.

ISIC card	ID card for full-time students at CZU with one year licence and has the function of a basic ID card as well. The licence allows you to take advantage of various discounts and can serve as a student certificate in public transportation around Prague. The licence needs to be renewed annualy if you want to use the discounts. However the card itself serves as CZU ID card even without the license. Outside the university, the ISIC card can also be used in digital form. Just download the ALIVE APP mobile application for free in the APP STORE or GOOGLE PLAY and activate your profile.	420 Kč (including one year license)	YES
ALIVE card	ID card for students with combined form of study with one year license and has the function of a basic ID card as well. The card allows you to take advantage of various discounts of the ALIVE license. The licence needs to be renewed annualy if you want to use the discounts. However the card itself serves as CZU ID card even without the license. Outside the university, the ALIVE card can also be used in digital form. Just download the ALIVE APP mobile application for free in the APP STORE or GOOGLE PLAY and activate your profile.	420 Kč (including one year license)	YES

* The UEP can be used for paying for various services at CZU (copying machines, library, caffeteria,...). The UEP is also prerequisite for taking subsidized meals at the cafeteria.

Procedure for issuing cards

Check your personalia in the University information system. The card can be issued only if the personal details are complete including uploaded and approved passport picture (photo showing head and a part of shoulders, front face should be directed to the lens, one-color background) in format 3.5 x 4.5 cm. The format of the digital photo should be .jpeg and the size max. 5 Mb!
Before issuing/ordering the card it is necessary to grant all relevant approvals (for the using of card and studies at CZU) in the UIS (is.czu.cz) in the section Protection of personal data, subsection Approvals by user.
The card will be created immediately on the spot at Card centre. The card centre is on the ground floor of the library building, number 139b.You have to come personally. We advise you to come for your card before the semester starts to avoid long queues.
After proving your identity we will create a chosen card for you.
To activate the card you have to go to Cash desk (ground floor of the library, check opening hours)and pay the card fee. If you wish to use UEP, you pay the deposit at the same time. Payment must be made within seven calendar days of receipt.
The card will be fully activated the next day after the payment. Please note that the payment/activation is a necessary step for the card to work.
When using it, do not remove it from the cover, do not bend it, or do not expose it to strong magnetic fields and excessive heat.
Temporary the card can be ordered online through the CZU book e-shop. If you have a photo uploaded, the approvals granted and the payment made, the card will be sent by post.

Digital ISIC, ALIVE in mobile

ISIC and ALIVE cards can now also be used outside the university in digital form. Just download the ALIVE APP mobile application for free in the APP STORE or GOOGLE PLAY and activate your profile.

You will then always have your ISIC or ALIVE digital card at hand, in your mobile phone. It is accepted by discount providers and in transport, including the state-mandated discount for students. However, the digital version of the card does not fully replace the plastic version of the card with a chip, which you need for use at the university.

In the application you will get further

• simple overview of all discounts – search by location, possibility to save favorite discounts
• access to exclusive competitions or limited offers
d• an overview of current insurance policies and their validity
• in case of loss, change of validity, etc., the digital card is automatically updated according to the newly issued card
• notification of the expiration of the license
• ID number legible and clearly visible at all times

Electronic evidence of attendance

Certain lectures are using the evidence of attendance using student cards - at the entrance each student is obliged to mark his/her attendance by applying his/her student card on the sensor device.

Therefore you need an active student card right from the first day of your studies. The activation follows the payment for the student card in the Cash desk. A card that has not been paid for / activated is not identified by the sensor. Missing more lectures can finally lead to the termination of study at CZU. Hence we advise you to fetch your student card in advance, preferably before the semester starts to avoid the queues.
